Just before I was taken back for my biopsy.
(Disclaimer: I am not a medical doctor and I am not giving medical advice. I am just sharing my story. Please talk to a medical professional about any treatment or modality before starting one.)
I had a surgical biopsy the next week. We took out a lymph node on the side of my neck and sent it off. The results came back in a week later.
Stage 3 Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin Lymphoma
My parents flew in a couple of days after that. It was time to start taking action. We decided to go get a second opinion at MD Anderson. In the meantime, I would start doing what I could to detox and help my body. I started juicing and the Budwig concoction. Blech. I know that this has helped so many people, but for me it was a nightmare to get down. I lovingly called it “cream of crap”. Again, I think it’s great… it just wasn’t for me.
Budwig concoction.
It is supposed to help oxygenate your body which aids with healing. When you have cancer you will try anything. 😉 We also started to juice. That wasn’t as bad, but it was challenging to consume so much juice. Juicing is a labor of love. At first, you have to take it slowly because your body is detoxing. I also went vegan (besides the cottage cheese for the Budwig concoction).
We went to Houston and visited MD Anderson. We were able to stay with dear friends which was a blessing. MD Anderson confirmed the diagnosis. The treatment they had was the typical 4 chemo approach and maybe radiation. The Dr. was very forthcoming with the risks. He said there was one in particular that could cause lung damage and that they would have to monitor my lungs through the process. Another one could cause heart failure. He also told us that walking through cancer would either bring us closer or cause us to divorce. That was super unsettling.
We went back home to pray about it. I truly felt super uneasy doing chemo. I just had a very bad feeling about it and I didn’t have peace. I wanted to try other options if they were available. So we started heavily detoxing and trying natural therapies. Some of the therapies that I started were:
- Coffee Enemas
- Ozone Therapy
- High Dose Vitamin C
- Juicing
- Supplements
- Rebounding
- IV Therapy
- Rifing
- Sauna Therapy
- Grounding
- Colonics
- Smoothies
- Alkaline Ionized Water
- Footbaths
- Homeopathics
- Essential Oils
There may have been more, but that is all that is coming to mind at the moment. I will say it took a while to wrap my mind around some of these treatments. The coffee enemas alone took me a few weeks to try. I bought the bags that you have to use and labeled what they were on the box. Why wouldn’t the company be more discreet about it!? It forever changed my relationship with my UPS man. 🤣
My little helper helped me get all the veggies and cottage cheese for the Budwig concoction.
We were all trying to come to terms with the situation that had hit us. I had so many questions swirling in my mind. So many emotional fires to put out. The one thing that I was holding on to with a vice grip was…

This is very encouraging! Thank you for your vulnerability!!
