Healing was a full-time job. It took up most of my day to do my routine. At this point, I was feeling a bit weaker and was struggling to be a mom. At the time I had a 9,7, and a 2 year old. My toddler was very busy, and I was having a hard time keeping on top of things. I barely had the energy to care for myself. The juicing and food prep by themselves took a lot of work. I think i will make a separate blog post about being a mom while going through cancer. I don’t think that it is talked about enough. I had a difficult time finding anyone who discussed what that was like and how to navigate it.
I was doing a lot of research at this time to learn what I could about healing cancer naturally. A few of them are:
Chris Wark with Chrisbeatcancer.com. Chris is a great resource if you know anyone trying to go the natural route. He shares his own journey and also has a course with a ton of information. What I love about it was that it doesn’t just focus on the physical, but he also covers the emotional and spiritual aspect of healing as well. He also has a bunch of interviews with people who have overcome cancer as well.
Another good resource is Cortney and her website anticancermom.com. She beat it naturally and is still cancer free. I reached out to her when I was first diagnosed and she was very kind.
Another person that I loved to learn from was Dr. Josh Axe. He helped his mom beat cancer naturally and has a lot of useful information. He is a believer and you can tell he is very genuine and really cares about helping people.
So our plan of action was first to clear all of my detox pathways, and then flood my body with nutrition. We wanted to help my body heal itself. Every day I would do a coffee enema, an ozone treatment, juice, a smoothie, supplements, grounding (most days), and rebound, etc. There were other things here and there but these are the main things.
I started originally with the Budwig diet and was also implementing some of the Gerson diet/therapies. I am not advocating or speaking against either. I am just sharing my testimony. I eventually just did a vegan diet. An example of something I would eat would be sweet potato toast with spinach, avocado, hemp hearts, and broccoli sprouts.
The smoothies were probably the easiest thing to get down for me. I would add as many supplements in powder form as I could. I would also throw in some broccoli sprouts if I had them readily available. In the beginning, we would buy the broccoli sprouts, but eventually, we would start to grow them ourselves. They are actually very easy to grow yourself! We would also get a young coconut to use as well. It was always an adventure trying to crack them open. 🙂
I kept up with this for a couple of months, until I needed to change some things…
