Yesterday, the Lord whispered in my heart to go spend some time with Him.
I wrapped up what I was doing with some work stuff and hid away in my bedroom with my bible and journal. I turned on some music and asked Him what was on His heart. I heard him say:
“I am your source. I have everything that you need.”
I had to sit with that for a bit. To be honest, I am still chewing on it. We have been talking for a while about Him being my everything. He keeps bringing that up to me. I guess I am slow on the uptake. 😉 He keeps telling me that He wants ALL of me.
He wants to be my everything.
To be totally honest there are areas that I don’t always turn to him first. Sometimes I do, but not always. Sometimes I don’t go to him for comfort. I go to HGTV or chocolate. Sometimes I don’t turn to Him when I am feeling anxious or fearful. I turn to google to find answers that will give me peace. Not that those things are bad in themselves. They aren’t. But when they are replacing a spot that God is supposed to fill, then that’s a problem. It’s not a condemnation thing, but a growing and maturing thing. I am loved just the same. It’s just that there’s more.
He knows that if He fills those voids and I learn to trust Him with those areas of my life that I haven’t quite given up just yet, I will be living so much more abundantly. I love that about Him. He never leaves us where we are. He is always leading us along to have more of Him. I am here for all of it. All of Him. So this is me. In process. As we all are. Each day, making little choices to have Him be my everything.

19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
I don’t know if you are anything like me. Maybe the Lord has been gently wooing you to let go of that one thing that you know He wants you to. I do know this to be true. He has a better thing for us. His ways and plans are always better. ❤
Lord, I pray that you would help us trust you. Help us let go of the things that we need to. Forgive us when we run to other things instead of you. Help us seek your kingdom first. Thank you for supplying every single one of our needs. We know that your ways are better than our ways. We want you to be our everything. We want you to fill all the voids in our life that are created to be filled by you. Thank you that you are that good! Thank you for inviting us for more. More of you. We love you. Amen.
